Entrepreneurship

I’m saddened that entrepreneurship has been glorified. In movies, blogs, podcasts, etc, it’s presented as this glamorous life style; a path to wealth and fame; to parties, pitches and appearances on “Shark Tank”. But if that’s your objective, not only are you almost certainly going to be disappointed, but you are in it for all the wrong reasons. Most of what an entrepreneur does is hardly glamorous: disciplined repetition of tests and trials to try various propositions. But to some of us, that’s the great part about being an entrepreneur. You get to sit around the table with really smart people solving really interesting problems. If you make money - it’s a bonus - but if you cherish the problem solving - the chance to try to do things that everyone tells you will never work - you’ll always be happy.
